In Conversation with Evelyn Glennie

26 January, 2017 at 19:00

FREE

Bolton School will host a free event with solo percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie on Thursday 26th January 2017 at 7.00pm in the Girls’ Division Great Hall.

Members of the public are invited to join Bolton School pupils and staff for this occasion.

Dame Evelyn Glennie was the first to successfully create a full-time career as a solo percussionist. She performs worldwide with the greatest conductors, orchestras, and artists, and memorably led the drummers in the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

She regularly provides masterclasses and consultations to inspire others and is a leading commissioner of new works for solo percussion.

She continues to invest in realising her vision, to Teach the World to Listen, and encourages everyone to discover new ways of listening.

This free event is open to everyone and will take place in the Girls’ Division Great Hall on Thursday 26th January 2017, beginning at 7.00pm. Refreshments will be available beforehand from 6.30pm. Parking will be available in the Girls’ Division Quad, which will be clearly signposted on the night.
