The idea of making an improvised recording, where Evelyn Glennie could work closely with a producer, had been in her mind for many years. Improvisation happens in all the concerts she gives – it’s in her nature to learn from the rules of a piece and then to break them. In this project there were no boundaries and no limits. What you experience with this recording are the thoughts and instincts of the performers from moment to moment. As Gramophone magazine says, ‘Evelyn Glennie has never been afraid to take risks. […] The spirit of Evelyn Glennie is indefatigably apparent on this recording”.
