Trestle Records is a London based label dedicated to new instrumental music. Alongside a programme of new LP releases the label also hosts the One Day Band sessions. Musicians are invited to a fully engineered studio to make a record in a day. A multitude of artists have been invited to participate from a variety of backgrounds and genres of music. Trestle Record’s One Day Band series encourages musicians to improvise and compose a record in just one day. Often, musicians have had no musical experience together before, and are playing together for the very first time.
Trestle Records presents the first compilation featuring a selection of tracks from our project, the One Day Band sessions. This very special release will be limited to 300 copies of 180 gram vinyl with die cut cover design.
The record contains 11 tracks from the 20 sessions we have hosted so far. The musicians included come from a variety of genres and traditions, providing a unique gathering of talent in one place. It’s a release for the curious and eclectic listener and rewards with a rich variety of approaches and sounds, all improvised and collaborative during a day’s recording.
