We are an international company built on the incredible talents of Dame Evelyn Glennie, the first person in history to create and sustain a full-time career as a solo percussionist. With a rich and continuing legacy built under Evelyn’s name we started 3 years ago putting together the ‘Evelyn Glennie Archive Collection’; an archive that brings together all aspects of Evelyn’s journey. With our current dedicated team of volunteers the archive is now taking shape and we are realising we require more people to help us make this happen. This task will take place at our office space in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire where all the necessary tools are provided.
A few tasks will include:
-Evaluating Records for preservation and retention – some may be fragile and need carefully handling.
-Repair or conservation
-Entering data into spreadsheet record-keeping systems
-Indulging in some homemade cake!
-Cataloguing collections and managing information records
-Arranging exhibitions, talks and visits
This volunteering project is overseen by Evelyn with lots of support from her team.
It is a challenge but a very interesting one. Are you up for it?
